What the differences mean
TVL. PRBZ states 1800 TVL and Ratel Pro 1500 TVL. TVL describes the detail of an analogue image, not light sensitivity or dynamic range, so a higher TVL does not make a camera better at dusk or in a high-contrast scene. More in “How to Choose an FPV Camera: TVL, Lux, WDR and PAL/NTSC”.
Sensor and low light. Ratel Pro has a larger sensor format (1/1.8” versus 1/3”), BSI, and the manufacturer states a minimum illumination of 0.00001 Lux [1]. PRBZ has no stated minimum illumination, so low-light behavior cannot be compared from numbers. Even stated Lux values depend on measurement conditions - see “As Daylight Fades: Choosing an FPV Camera for Changing Light”.
WDR and field of view. Ratel Pro has Super WDR (HDR) and a 125° field of view. These parameters are not stated for PRBZ and should not be assumed.
Video system. Both cameras work with PAL and NTSC. For Ratel Pro the manufacturer states the system is changeable; the PRBZ product page lists “PAL / NTSC” without describing switching. Matching the format with the transmitter, receiver and display is covered in “PAL vs NTSC in FPV Cameras”.
Power and weight. PRBZ accepts DC 5–40 V and weighs 6 g; Ratel Pro takes DC 4.5–27 V and weighs 9.5 g. Check your build’s supply voltage against the range of the specific model.
Price and batches
The retail price of PRBZ is 960 ₴ and Ratel Pro is 1 850 ₴: a difference of 890 ₴ per unit. PRBZ has confirmed batch tiers: 900 ₴ from 10 pcs, 850 ₴ from 100 pcs and 790 ₴ from 500 pcs. For example, 100 PRBZ cameras at 850 ₴ come to 85 000 ₴. For Ratel Pro, batches are calculated individually.
You can estimate a PRBZ batch in the calculator. Batch order terms are on the “Wholesale and batch FPV cameras” page.
Who each camera may suit
PRBZ Mini 1800TVL. If the main criteria are unit price, batch economics, a 6 g weight and a wide power range, and the camera will mostly work in ordinary lighting, PRBZ is worth considering. Its product page lists series builds, daytime use and compact platforms. For low light, look at real footage first.
Caddx Ratel Pro. If you need manufacturer-stated parameters for difficult lighting - a 1/1.8” BSI sensor, Super WDR, a 125° field of view and a stated minimum illumination of 0.00001 Lux - Ratel Pro is the logical one to look at. Its product page also notes that the camera is not intended for complete darkness.
How to compare in practice
- Define the conditions. Daylight, dusk or changing light.
- Check power and video format. Your supply voltage, and PAL or NTSC in your system.
- Compare confirmed data. Do not fill missing parameters with assumptions.
- Look at real footage. Ideally from the same scene under the same conditions.
- Test the camera in your build. Real compatibility is more reliable than comparing numbers.
